Step 1) Restart the game
Step 2) Disable/Enable Steam Input- Restart the game
Step 3) PS5 Controller users: Try using DS4/reWASD application
Step 4) Disable Steam Input, now go to Steam Controller Settings and enable Steam Input for Xbox/PlayStation Controllers- restart the game
Step 5) For many users using an Xinput emulator (X360 Controller Emulator) has worked.
Step 6) Make sure to keybind your controller with the xinput config screen in the settings for the game to see if they are set to your preference.
Step 7) Make sure to disconnect other peripherals such as mouse/keyboard, additional joystick, controllers. Unplug Razer Tartarus, Unplug VR/Windows Mixed Reality Headsets, disconnect all the additional USB adapter connected to PC, disconnect if you have any virtual controller connected (Vjoy etc.), disable/uninstall them
Step 8) Launch Steam in big picture mode and then launch the game.
Step 9) Use wired controller
