We're going to take a trip back to 2001 when Pokemon Fever was rampant and a young me was extremely upset to learn they weren't going to bring the second TCG GBC game overseas. Was that disappointment justified? Eh. It doesn't take me very long to see the flaws in this game's design and it makes sense that Nintendo not only didn't feel like investing in the translation but they also put an end to the prospect of any other iterations of a narrative interpretation of the trading card game. If you keep expectations of deep strategic gameplay to a minimum, then this offers a reasonable dose of nostalgia for the early days of the franchise and maybe that's enough for some.
