Tengai Makyo/Far East of Eden Zero (Super Famicom, 1995)
45I think this intro is a bit better than Chrono Trigger's, in fact, the SFC/SNES pushes its capabilities to the limit in this game as well, the cut scenes are just phenomenal.
When it comes to popular RPG's TM/Eden series is Hudson Soft's answer to Dragon Warrior & Final Fantasy....in Japan at least. It too brought out a great number of sequels, but never went global because American/European developers thought it was *too Japanese* for their crowds. It spanned a few platforms starting on the PC Engine, all the way to Super Famicom, the PCFX, Sega Saturn, and a fighting game for Neo Geo (Kabuki Klash). Lately some of the PC Engine ones have been either ported or remade on today's consoles.
There's a neat little feature about Eden for SFC. It has a built in clock, and has the ability to detect holidays.
