STORY / BORING WALL OF TEXT:
I just discovered that today is the 28th anniversary of Terranigma, one of the world's greatest videogames ever made.
It's a bit too late (technically it was yesterday in many places of Earth), but just wanted to celebrate this in some way. And so I decided to upload the video for my most recent cover of Terranigma.
This is the song that plays in the title intro, so it's the first thing you hear in the game. And just like the rest of the soundtrack it's amazing music. Full of leitmotifs and melodies you may later recognize from other tunes and lots of cool stuff.
For my arrangement I wanted to make something that is varied enough to keep the listener's interest. The intro was meant to sound serious and good, like if that were not me at all. So I needed someone who, besides being a good artist, has a recognizable style, so the surprise when moving to the next section will be bigger. And donut was the perfect person for this, since she is not just a very talented clarinetist whose arrangements are also pretty recognizable as hers, but she also happens to like Terranigma's soundtrack. Isn't this cool?
After the intro nearly everything is my usual synth metal but I think it's varied enough, not boring or repetitive at all despite 3 minutes long. I wanted the music to represent the chaos and clash of the forces of good and evil. A concept as simple and stereotypical as the world itself, but Terranigma implements that pretty well in its plot, and it works as excuse to go as chaotic as possible without any remorse.
And well, without anything else to say for now, I just hope you enjoy this and have some well deserved laughs and fun with it.
