5I have tinkered and bent the interface for the iPhone around a bit to see if I can get the microphone to work...but it is not looking good...so far...I will have to adapt until a replacement comes and I will have to do better at keeping Penny away during recording...oh well, onward we go!
So, yes, this is the original PET that we used on the Bradley Brothers Bulletin Board System way back some 40 years ago...and it had some custom ROM's in it...and if it detected a changed in the memory during down time, when nobody was on the BBS, the machine would reboot, and everything would reset preventing most crashes or lockups! David Williams was the man who created these custom routines, and he was a teacher, as well, he did have a hand in the TPUG Magazine for many issues...he was a genius...indeed...but alas, does this machine work...well, I am not sure and things got a bit slowed down by Penny...as you have likely already seen...anyway, here is a look at the circuit board!
This is the original PET that we ran the Bradley Brother's BBS on, and supposedly it does not work...mind you, I think there are chips missing...and I was about to dig into it...when Penny appeared on the scene...wanting to be helpful...and scan the machine...well...it did not go so well...and, well, you will see what happens at the end of this video...
