Today I tested more of Luigi's Mansion, on a GameCube using a eon GCHD MkII HDMI adapter (you can use other adapters, they are often just as good for 1/2 the MSRP) and an mClassic (~$100) set to retro mode. This video has no commentary, although I may use this footage in a review at a later date.

Important: Games must have progressive scan (480p) support-- which is luckily most of the GameCube library-- although you could use swiss to force 480p in some games. If a game does not run at 480p the mClassic will not autocorrect to 4:3 aspect ratio, nor improve the image quality.

The forced 4:3 in retro mode (there are other modes better for 16:9) 4:3 can be annoying for the handful of games that use 16:9, but is a godsend to me as my TV (4K Samsung) prior to this device would stretch all GameCube 4:3 signals to 16:9. Overall, this improves the clarity/quality of the image and gives modern TV users the best possible way to see GameCube games on original hardware.

I would say any 480p console (Xbox, GameCube, Wii) as well as 720p focused systems (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U) are the best use case of this device. I would recommend this device if your budget allows and would like to have an impressive quality video on older 3d consoles.
