Here's something I tried testing out with a device called the iRig HD 2, the device I used to record my Roland TD-11 drum kit in Logic Pro X. What you're seeing is a bit of drumming to Metallica's "Ride the Lightning" and I honestly have quite a way to go before I actually do a drum cover. Originally, the plan was to do a drum cover of "The Thing That Should Not Be" but I didn't have enough experience drumming to that so I held back on it until I'd get better. It's not like I 100% suck because I've played drums for a few years and instruments would normally take at least 5 years to get good at (I assume it takes longer for guitars). As for the recording process itself, it was honestly pretty easy. I just connected the drum set (probably in mono) to the device, connected the device to my MacBook Pro, and started playing. However, I did mute the track in Logic Pro X because there was a slight delay after I hit a drum but anyone who is making a project can easily time that when editing. This is also my first video I made on Final Cut Pro but honestly, I'm already thinking of using Adobe Premiere Pro because I found its features better. If I find features that are better on Final Cut Pro, I'll take more advantage of those by making a video on that program.
