These are the highlights from the first 6v6 Medieval season. It was a lot of fun. I tried to include the most interesting parts, rather than including everything.

My team finished third place. The team which got second had better team cohesion and the team which got first arguably had the best Boots-style Demoknight in the game. He definitely deserved the win. Considering that Boots-style Demoknight isn't my speciality (I prefer Hybrid), I think third place is fine. Though maybe I could have gotten second if the circumstances were a bit better.

The format in this league is 6v6 without any special weapon bans besides the ones that are already disallowed in Medieval. There are 7 maps in the map pool, so it's not just Degroot Keep. The classlimits prevent any more than 2 Scouts, 2 Soldiers, 2 Pyros, 1 Demoman, 1 Heavy, 2 Engineers, 1 Medic, 1 Sniper or 1 Spy. It prevents the entire server from going Demoknight and Medic, which is reasonable.

The meta strategy at the moment most likely involves a Demoknight, a Medic, a Sniper and a Mad Milk Scout. The rest of the classes seem to be very flexible. You can either have one or two Soldiers, a Neon Annihilator Pyro, a Spy or a Heavy. There's a lot of experimentation you can do here, and we've seen different team compositions coming from different teams.

Except Engineer. Engineer sucks here. Rip ankle dane.
