TF2: PASS Time Gameplay / Review. Basketball, Football, CTF...?
PASS time is the latest gamemode added to Team Fortress 2! It's asCapture-the-Flag type mode, but there's only one "flag" AND you have to capture in your opponents' goal, so it's more like basketball or football.
The PASS time rules and mechanics mean the ball carrier cannot attack, but can throw the ball away at any time. A melee attack on the ball carrier also means you immediately steal it from them and get a few moments of invulnerability.
In this video we have some PASS Time gameplay, a overview of the rules and a mini review of my thoughts on it so far.
PASS time is currently in one of TF2 beta playlists, so is not by any accounts a finished product. In fact, Valve actively invite you to e-mail them your feedback on the game mode at this e-mail address:
passtime@valvesoftware.com
My personal thoughts are that the map (pass_warehouse) is too big and the game mode is too slow. I would love to see the map almost halved in size, the respawn times decreased and the goal limit lifted. I feel like it should play like a real game of basketball where you play for a set amount of time, rather than play towards a certain score limit.
The gamemode is actually a collaboration between Valve and JJ Abrams's production company Bad Robot. I'm sure a relationship between these two companies can only been great things for Team Fortress fans and I can't wait to see what happens in the future!
I love feedback, good and bad, so please let me know what you think!
