TF2 Pyro Update HUD Fix / Workaround
Hello, smart men on teamfortress.tv have figured out a possible hud workaround and also updated a bunch of huds to be compatible with the new update - CHECK TO SEE IF YOUR HUD IS UPDATED BEFORE TRYING TO FIX IT (links below to some downloads)
Anyway, step by step:
1. Change ui_version to 2 in HUDNAME/info.vdf
2. Rename/remove GameMenu.res in HUDNAME/Resource/...
3. Rename/remove MainMenuOverride.res in HUDNAME/Resource/UI/...
If this doesn't work, and crashes on trying to open the "casual servers" tab, it'll be an issue with your HUDNAME/scripts/hudanimations.txt (probably), this can probably be fixed by exporting the stock hud's hudanimations files / deleting your own hudanimations / using https://twitter.com/Wiethoofd 's hud_animations_manifest.txt to preload animations
This is really just a workaround to make it so you can at least play TF2 without having to use the stock - the actual fix to make everything work is something that you should either leave to other people or sit down and sift through github to see what files need updating. Or just copy some working files from someone else's hud into your own, usually works okay haha
Feel free to ask general questions below / see if you can answer anyone else's questions. I'll be sifting through the comments for a few days to reply to general questions, but if you've got a big hud problem and you don't want to just use someone else's, try the http://www.teamfortress.tv/19073/hud-editing-short-questions-quick-answers thread (please do not spam these poor people though, keep small questions here)
I would recommend just installing an updated hud, lists of which can be found at any of:
