The Quarry Crusher series takes place in four cities; I was fortunate that Columbia was one of them. This 3.7 mile race took us down an active rock quarry for a good downhill run at a 10 percent grade at which point we reached 475 feet below sea level, but it was the uphill battle that challenged all of us. Over 600 people participated in the single lap event, while over a hundred people tested themselves by undertaking a two lap version called the Double Crusher.

The weather was brisk and the wind was blowing at first, but once the race started, all coldness went away. This was definitely a race to try out, and while I am sore, I am glad I did it and completed the race.

I sped up the footage to 13X and tried to be mindful of how I ran down the slope so the GoPro wouldn't shake too mind. Yeah, gravity had other ideas, but at least I didn't fall.
