The vast60 R1 was ran March 26 to March 30, 2021. It started at $160 with no PCB but came with the case and plate (fr4 or polycarbonate). This board is gasket mounted with a left-sided USB-C port, meaning it can fit most 60% PCB's that can also fit the Tofu/Klippe. It also features different tops, either WK, WKL, HHKB or Right Blocker (meaning you can use arrow keys with a blocker on a 60%, which is my perfect layout).
This board was very low-key with only around 100 units made, but it is one of the best performers as for as budget 60% goes. People love the Keychron Q1 because it's a gasket mount board at a very reasonable price with good modding potential. This is essentially a 60% Q1 with all the same flaws and benefits. This thing is hollow, even with foam, so it benefits greatly from the force break mod which reduced most of the hollowness. This thing also has a decent amount of flex, actually very similar flex to the Q1 even with the plate foam. The sound signature of this board can be creamy with inks or clacky as here, with the SP-Stars.
Speaking of the melons, they sound the same as meteor whites or sacramentos. Still a goated switch, but yeah, if you wanted meteor whites just get these.
