This is one of the best action RPGs ever made as well as one of the most underrated and overlooked retro classics in history. Crystalis has a really cool feel, it's set in a post-apocalyptic world and at the same time has a very traditional fantasy feel. The fact that this is a post-apocalyptic RPG makes this Fallout BEFORE Fallout 1 and 2. In reality though, this game is not entirely original as several post-apocalyptic anime films and TV Shows with the same basic premise existed before this game such as "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind" and "Akira." Even one Western animated film called "Wizards" had a very similar premise. The best way I found to sum up this game is Legend of Zelda meets Fallout. A port of Crystalis came out on the Game Boy Color in the year 2000, this version's graphics were slightly improved and the story was changed somewhat.

Why listen to me over bigger reviewing organizations like IGN, Gamespot, X-Play, Gamespy, Destructoid or Gametrailers? Well, I don't just review games from the eyes of a technical, professional reviewer. I also review games from the perspective of an actual gamer.
