Dishonored is an upcoming game that seems like it will blend first person assassination action, swordplay, and time-freezing tactics very well. This is my journalistic overview of this upcoming first-person, stealth action title. The game will have you freezing time and using a ton of different gadgets and magical spells to dispose of your foes. This is of course in between the action oriented sword fights you will be having. The game feels like a really good mixture of Thief 2 and Skyrim, with esthetic elements reminiscent of the original BioShock. I don't like the fact that we won't be able to walk around the streets of this steam punk city as there is no actual sandbox over world, but the rich strategy in the mission gameplay makes up for this folly.
Dishonored comes out October 9th, 2012 in North America and then 11th and 12th in Australia, Europe, and Japan.
Why listen to me over bigger reviewing organizations like IGN, gamespot, G4, or gametrailers? Well, I don't just review games from the eyes of a technical, professional reviewer. I also review games from the perspective of an actual gamer.
