The Black Geek
Cedrick Boursiquot from MIT
April 2, 2018
Cedrick Boursiquot, SEVIS System's Coordinator and Data Analyst at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), will be presenting “The Black Geek”, which will focus on the image and identity marker of the "Geek" and navigating stereotypes within STEM education. Cedrick has worked in STEM, specifically computer science as a student, staff and faculty member.
Cedrick J. Boursiquot is the SEVIS Systems Coordinator and Data Analyst at MIT’s International Students Office. Prior to his position at MIT he worked as an Associate IT Director and IT Integration Specialist at Catholic Memorial School preceded only by his tenure at St. John’s High School where he was a Computer Science Teacher and an Audio Visual Director. Cedrick is truly passionate about all things technology; it started from a young age where he began taking apart, and rebuilding his remote controller cars, as well as, anything he could get his hands on, sometimes to his detriment. His passion followed him to high school where he took Java courses and eventually to college, at Tufts University, where he majored in Child Development with a focus in technology in the classroom. Cedrick has taken his passion and love for technology and incorporated it into his professional and personal life: he is a proud geek. Don’t believe it, just ask him and await many, many stories.
