The Boys: Jared Padalecki Has 1 Condition For Ever Appearing On The Show
Supernatural star Jared Padalecki has one condition for appearing on The Boys. Based on the comic book of the same name, Prime Video's satirical superhero series follows the titular team of vigilantes who combat corrupt superpowered individuals who abuse their abilities. Since the two shows share a creator in Eric Kripke, several Supernatural actors have appeared in The Boys, including Jensen Ackles, Nathan Mitchell, Adrian Holmes, Christian Keyes, Jim Beaver, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and more.
During a recent interview with Collider, Padalecki revealed he would be willing to cameo in The Boys, though he has one condition. The Supernatural star says that Kripke "has reached out to" him about potentially appearing in the Prime Video series, though Padalecki, a 41-year-old father with three kids, says he needs considerable notice to get ripped before making a cameo. Read his full response below:
Because both series were created by Kripke, several members of the Supernatural cast have subsequently appeared in The Boys. First and foremost, Ackles played Dean Winchester in Supernatural, serving as one of the two main protagonists alongside Padalecki's Sam Winchester for the show's entire 327-episode run. Shortly after Supernatural's series finale, Ackles was quickly cast in The Boys season 3 as Soldier Boy. Referenced throughout the first two seasons, the superpowered World War II veteran doesn't make his debut until the season 3 premiere, "Payback."
Black Noir is known for being masked, mysterious, and silent in The Boys, but despite that, he is played by Mitchell, the same actor who appeared as the friendly and open-minded angel, Kelvin, in Supernatural season 12. Keyes played the villainous archangel Michael in multiple episodes of Supernatural and A-Train's older brother and coach, Nathan Franklin, in The Boys seasons 1 and 3. Beaver played the endearingly gruff Bobby Singer in Supernatural and returned as a character of the same name, Secretary of Defense Robert A. Singer, in The Boys.
Morgan, who played John Winchester, is the latest Supernatural star set to debut in The Boys season 4, premiering on June 13. Though his character remains unconfirmed, Morgan's past roles as Negan in The Walking Dead and The Comedian in Zack Snyder's Watchmen prove that he's capable of playing complex and superpowered characters. Though Morgan will be the latest, it certainly won't be the last time Kripke casts a Supernatural star in The Boys, with Padalecki also expressing interest.
Other than Jeffrey Dean Morgan in an undisclosed role, The Boys season 4 will see the introduction of two new Supes. Susan Heyward, known for her role in Orange is the New Black, will play Sister Sage, while Valorie Curry, recognizable from her role in The Lost Symbol, takes on the role of Firecracker. Additionally, Rosemarie DeWitt from La La Land joins season 4 as Hughie's long-lost mother, while Simon Pegg returns as his father. Furthermore, Supernatural's Rob Benedict and Titans star Elliot Knight have been cast in undisclosed roles.
In terms of its story, The Boys season 4 is shaping up to be the show's most explosive chapter yet. This is especially true after the Gen V season 1 ending helped bridge the gap between The Boys seasons 3 and 4. The Gen V finale saw the unexpected arrival of Homelander, who appeared responsible for imprisoning Marie and several other individuals in a Vought facility. Homelander's direct involvement in Godolkin University was a significant revelation, and the massacre during the finale could serve as a turning point for the public perception of Supes in season 4.
