It's enough to make you weep - more than a million starving refugees, many of them just babies, stranded in one of the most remote places on earth. While billions of dollars have been spent fighting the war in Iraq, the world has all but ignored a catastrophe still unfolding in Africa right this very minute. That said, a few intrepid souls have braved appalling conditions to pitch in and do what they can to help. Among them a husband and wife medical team from Sydney's northern beaches, Michael and Christine Shanahan, who faced the challenge of their lives.
