My submission for the 2-Hour Album Challenge #13, January 2021: "Technology," over at Ben Burnes's Abstraction Music community. This is a quarterly event where participants take 2 hours to create a song from start to finish, and then submissions are compiled into an album that sells to benefit a cat rescue shelter.

This song was made in Cakewalk utilizing the following VSTs:
Spitfire Audio BBC Orchestra Core (extensively)
Spitfire Audio LABS
Spitfire Audio Firewood Piano
FTPlug (a free, barebones NES audio VST I found somewhere)
TAL U-No-62 (a free, really good Roland Juno VST from TAL)
RYM2612 (YM2612--the Genesis/Megadrive soundchip--VST)

This song turned out more ominous than I'd intended, but I'm happy with it. My initial idea, which I still used, was to use changing instrumentation as a way of representing the evolution of technology. The instruments themselves would directly portray that as well, with my choices of instrument relating to their chronological and technological advancement. The title came later, to sortof "explain" the mood of the song.
