I've seen this discussion come up quite a bit on social media recently, and it makes sense with the Alpha 2 purchases ending soon. The bundle IS a lot of money and I am not advocating people spend it. The point is that kickstarter games and small indie games need funding from somewhere, and sadly kickstarter is where a lot of scam games do happen.

There aren't many kickstarter games out there where the CEO of the company is forking over 45 million dollars of his own money and hiring over 100 developers to develop a game though, and in that lies the difference.
