The Cycle: Frontier is a free-to-play high-stakes PvPvE first-person shooter driven by suspense and danger. Prospect for resources and other riches on an abandoned alien world ravaged by a deadly storm, inhabited by monsters, and frequently raided by other ambitious Prospectors.
What exactly is The Cycle about?
The Cycle is a Competitive Quest Shooter. On Fortuna III, you compete against other Prospectors, or collaborate with them, to claim as many resources as possible.
The only problem is, the planet is hostile in many ways.
Alien wildlife tends to want to rip your face off. Rival Prospectors are at best untrustworthy and at worst highly murderous. And if that’s not bad enough, there’s The Cycle itself... a planetary metamorphosis which, if you don’t make it to the evac ship in time, will absolutely ensure the end of you.
But hey, you could get rich!
Sounds like another Battle Royale game, is it?
The win condition of Battle Royale games is “last man standing“, whereas in The Cycle the winner is the Prospector that completes the most contracts during the match AND manages to evacuate the planet in time. Theoretically, you can play the game without any PvP and hunting other players is not a win condition in The Cycle.
Nonetheless, there might be moments, when it’s best to put yourself first, for instance when it comes to sharing the spoils of a mission, or if you want to stop another Prospector from getting too far ahead of you on the match leaderboard.
It is up to you, how you spend your time on Fortuna III, as long as survive and make bank.
So in short, no, it’s not a Battle Royale game, it’s a Competitive Quest Shooter (PvEvP game) which is trying to do something else.

How many players are in a match?
Currently, we support 20 players, a host of deadly alien monsters, some cute Fortuna III native wildlife, and an evac ship to escape the planet.
Can I play with my friends?
You can play solo, duo or in a squad of four Prospectors.
Who is working on this game?
The game is made and published by YAGER, an independent development studio known for ‘Spec Ops: The Line’ and based in Berlin, Germany.
How can I play The Cycle right now?
The Cycle is in early access but we are adding contents constantly, stay tuned, we have a lot to reveal in the coming months.
When can I play the game?
Anytime, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
Do I need another The Cycle account then?
No, we want to keep it simple. All you need is a valid Epic Games Store account and download the game from there.
Which platforms will The Cycle be available on?
The Cycle is available for PC with Windows OS. For the future, we are considering additional platforms.
Are you planning to sell the game at the Epic Games Store?
No, the game is a free2play title and will be accessible without any additional payments. All you need is an active Epic Games Store account to play our game.
Will there be in-app purchases?
Eventually yes, we are planning with in-app purchases in the broadly accepted style. That means, we won´t sell direct advantages to players (Pay2Win) and instead will offer cosmetic items and quality of life improvements. We will let you know about our concrete plans closer to the time.
What are Founder’s Packs? Are they available permanently?
By purchasing Founder’s Packs, fans of The Cycle can actively support the development of our game while also gaining exclusive customization content and discounted in-game currency for purchases in our in-game shop. It’s a one-time offer and we don´t expect to have a similar discount anytime soon. At some point in the future, we will remove those Founder’s Packs, so the availability is time-limited!
I purchased a Founder’s Pack, how can I ensure that I get my items?
You’ll receive all of your Founder’s Pack items automatically on the account where you made the purchase. When you log into the game, a notification will be waiting for you and all items will be available in your inventory.
Will The Cycle be on a different platform, like steam?
This might be the case in less than one year from now, and we leave the option open to bring The Cycle to many other platforms, not only Steam. But for now, our entire focus goes into the Epic Games Store and the game’s development.
