822016 was one of the most interesting times in HIp-Hop with the rise of Soundcloud Rap and mumble rap in the mainstream, and no moment better exemplifies its beginning than the XXL 2016 Freshman Cypher. While it might not be the most polished cypher of all time, the fact that these artists were all in a room together before their astronomic rises to fame is crazy to look back on. This was a freshman list that was hated on immediately when it was announced, but it is now looked back on as one of the most important lists of all time. Appreciate the watch!
