The Dark Mod - Main Theme / Credits Theme
51Also known as "Deviginti", this is the main theme of the freeware, standalone stealth game The Dark Mod (TDM). Created by a certain "drewb50", the theme's been associated with TDM since 2005. It also doubles as a Credits Theme, and in the current version of the game itself, that's where you actually hear it (as the main menu of the game has its own separate theme).
I've noticed a lot of other music tracks from The Dark Mod have been uploaded here, but not the main theme itself. "For shame !", I thought. And so here it is, in all its glory, for your listening pleasure. :-)

Q: But wait, isn't the main theme the one from the main menu of the game ? Or the theme from that earliest teaser for TDM ?

Q: I think I've heard the Main Theme in some of the newer TDM trailers... Does this make sense ?
A: Entirely possible, as it's been used in several of those. Most prominently in the TDM Standalone Trailer, made to celebrate the game going completely standalone/freeware in October 2013: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pFeaBDNmR4
Q: Is the TDM soundtrack legally available for download ?
A: Yep ! Its earliest compilation release from 2005 is freely and legally available for download from TDM's ModDB page. Follow this link: http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-dark-mod/addons/official-soundtrack-vol-1 Note that this soundtrack bundle is from the early years of the mod and doesn't include quite a lot of musical themes and ambience that were added to the game in the years that followed. The Main Theme and the Teaser Theme are present in this zip, but, e.g. not the Main Menu Theme (in both its arrangements), etc. If you have downloaded and installed the game properly, you can look for the tracks by copying the game file tdm_sound_ambient02.pk4 and then unzipping its files with any zipping software that will work on it. The Main Theme itself can be found under "sound/ambient/ambience/deviginti02" once you open the zip.
Q: If TDM is a homage to the original Thief games, is the overall nature of the Main Theme intentional ?
