The difference between a well-written and poorly-written female character
In recent years, we've seen how entertainment—anime, TV series, movies, and video games—has attempted to portray female characters in ways that often end up being misguided. Censorship, forced inclusion, and poorly executed moral messages have resulted in flat protagonists, lacking real development and failing to connect with the audience.
In this video, we'll analyze what differentiates a well-written female character from a poorly written one. We'll look at examples of poorly constructed female characters in anime, movies, and video games, and contrast them with excellent examples like Kiana Kaslana (Honkai Impact) and Frieren (Sousou no Frieren).
We'll also talk about how to write strong female characters without falling into clichés, Mary Sues, excessive fan service, or emotional dependencies that detract from the story's quality.
