Brackets are
1-14 15-19 20-24 25-29 30-30
The brackets mean what player levels you will encounter. 1-14 means no one 15 or above will be facing you in the dark zone. the NPC levels can still go far above that.
The Brackets will limit the levels of the agents you encounter. The level of the computer enemies will be determined by where you are on the map. The further north you go, the higher level the computer enemies are.
Do Missions on hard and engage Encounters first
Complete the main missions and then do them again on Hard mode. You’ll get more XP rewards and better gear and weapons.
Cover is crucial
If you don’t make use of cover you’re going to die. The game’ll tell you at the very start that it’s a cover shooter.
Watch and learn enemy attack patterns
Almost every Encounter and Mission has more than one wave of enemies to deal with.
Dudes with baseball bats will rush you. If there’s an incoming grenade you’ll see a big circle of effect, so make sure you dive out of it.
Enemies with flamethrowers, shoot the tanks on their backs to blow them up.
Check the map for new encounters
You’ll see new green and blue markers pop up as you explore the available play area. Hit them for XP boosts and drops.
Mod guns and inspect your gear carefully
Get into the habit of checking all your loot regularly. Also check your gear, each gear have different attributes such as skill increases. Same applies to mods and attachments for your weapons. So check them constantly!
Fight the AI for loot, other players too
Head to Landmarks and engage the purple enemies there. Also look for chest around that map that requires you to be rank 15 to open. At your level the chest that doesn’t require a key drop purple loot.
