What this glitch does, is give you or your buddies a self revive whenever the person is down that this glitch is used on. If you're in a random group you can improve the chances of your group's survival by giving them a second wind. If you're lucky someone else knows this trick and gives it to you as well when you're down. So this is another one of these glitches that are best used in a group.

HOW SELF REVIVAL WORKS
Whenever someone is downed you usually go up to them, then press the revive button and that's that. What you want to do differently, is press and hold the revive button while you're walking up to the downed person and hold it even after your buddy is up again. This will cause your character to start the revive animation again and kneel down a second time. You know that you've done it correctly if the revive message on the bottom left shows up twice.

This only gives you one second life, so if you go down another time after that, it has to be down again to work.

It's a very easy trick to do and can give you the upper hand in though missions. If you have it yourself and you get self revived, make sure to get into cover quickly since you only get about 1/3 of your health back.
