The Eldritch Zookeeper - Announced with Zany Trailer
0In The Eldritch Zookeeper, you play as a zookeeper who has been fired from the London Zoo for his habit of lighting things on fire. In order to continue his dear zookeeping profession going, he must take a position at a zoo that tends to otherworldly creatures. As each new day passes, you will be tasked with housing a new eldritch atrocity, and ensuring that its properly fed, preferably not with their adoring patrons. If they aren’t treated properly, they will make their displeasure known, as the trailer extensively demonstrates.
Cranktrain says that its main inspiration for The Eldritch Zookeeper was Theme Park World and Dungeon Keeper, as well as some modern survival games.
The game also features a collaboration with musician and composer Peter Nickallis for a promising orchestral soundtrack, which can also be sampled from the announcement trailer below.
The Eldritch Zookeeper is being developed for “a variety of platforms” and does not currently have a release date besides “very soon.” Developer Cranktrain has previously been responsible for the successful puzzler, The Cat Machine.
