Recently launched at the beginning of Summer 2022 ready to be played and purchased. Built for Xbox one but also available for PC or MAC through Steam.
Game Information
This game was built as an open world surf adventure exploration game, but needed to be reined back to be fun for beginners and to work properly on Xbox one. The game here is an introductory game re-playable with 12 increasingly difficult levels and a practice slow motion level to make learning to surf easy and fun. Two player head to head contests are a really fun way to continually play this game as well. In the future the plan is to bring the open world model to xbox and to expand the game.
BEST WAY TO PLAY
This is a skill based game, like sports, you need to learn how to surf. It will be easy to learn the practice level in slow motion and ride a wave, but takes practice to ride the waves well, do surfing turns, and tail slides etc. Unless you know something about surfing you may not know what to do and get bored. Watch some clips from my instagram or you tube to see what to aspire too, or even watch some real surfing videos. It's a simulation and plays good depending on your ability to pick it up. It gets better as you improve and play more.
Play the practice level until you can catch waves, know the buttons, and can ride waves. Use Talk to get tips from the other surfers. Move on to the challenge levels in order. Use the buttons in the menu to do more advanced surfing such as off the lip (turn hard at the top of the wave), sharp cutbacks, stall for tube rides, and hold B when launching with speed to land airs on the wave. Watch some surfing video to see what the real life surfers are doing. Wave scores are designed to mock real life contests. Waves are scored and contests are timed. A timer is used to give the levels some structure.
The different surfers have different feels to them.
There are three toggleable camera views - Pro mode POV of surfer is best but harder to play.
Waves are different at each break.
Though the graphics are basic the simulation is very true to surfing.
