The Famicom Disk System
The Nintendo Family Computer Disk System. The time when Nintendo went floppy. No just another failed console accessory, but something that turned out to be quite pivotal for video game history. The original home of some of the biggest games on the NES, this had a massive impact, even in places where it wasn't released. Zelda, Metroid, Kid Icarus all began life here as Nintendo first party games, but Konami also had a go too, with Castlevania making it's debut on disk.
