Welcome to my let's play series of The Forest, Alpha 1.

The Forest is another survival game, but I feel like it's going to revolutionize the genre. For one thing the graphics are incredible - even with using one of my more efficient video recorders the upload time for this video is past 500 minutes - shows how detailed the game is, at least on max settings on my PC.

Next, resource gathering is stunningly realistic. In Minecraft you punch blocks of trees out. In Rust nothing happens to a tree while you chop it. In The Forest the tree gets chopped down like it would in really, cutting a circle around it chop by chop around the base till it falls over.

However this game is in a very alpha state, way more so than a lot of games.
