2D: Circle of a radius of R
y²+x²=R²

3D: Sphere of radius of R²
y²+x²+z²=R²

4D: Hypersphere of a radius of R²
y²+x²+z²+t²=R²

Now imagine you fix the value of t. You can write:
y²+x²+z²=(R²+t²)
It's a sphere of a radius R2=√(R²+t²)

You just did a projection.
