The Gargoyle's Maze is a quest in Divinity: Original Sin 2 outside of Fort Joy near Sanctuary of Amadia. To begin it you must climb the vines near the Void Salamanders and speak with the Gargoyle. If you have the Band of Braccus Rex you can skip the maze, but you will miss out on loot.
In order to get the best possible loot for this quest you will need to acquire and use 3 skulls, of which there are 6.
You can put out the flames on the Historian by using Raining Blood and then Bless. This will open a portal to his right that contains a skull and a chest with some decent loot.
The loot reward seems to be randomized.
