-Ford Motors asked for some of their models to be removed from the game towards the end of development. Models that were to be included were the Fiesta, Granada and Capri, yet the Transit Van still remains. The Police Fiesta panda car was replaced with the Peugeot 306.

-Sold Over 250,000 copies in the run-up to Christmas 2002. Director Brendan McNamara appears in a cameo as the barman at the Spotted Dog pub. Writer and Producer Bertie appeared as Mark Hammond's wife, Suzie.

-BT (British Telecommunications) asked for their logos to be withdrawn from a van which features in The Getaway, when it later emerged that the player was required to steal a BT Van, and masquerading as a repairman, eliminate a corrupt Police Officer. This action prompted the recall of thousands of copies for alteration.
