WHO ARE YOU?
My name is Jamie, but you can call me Jim because of my channel name! I live in Northern Ireland in the UK!
WHAT VIDEOS DO YOU MAKE ON YOUR CHANNEL?
I make videos of several genres; Gaming, Stopmotion Animation, Music, and much more. The games I play vary, but mainly Halo 5 and other popular titles. The video length also varies. Stopmotion videos are usually very short minute clips. Gaming videos range from 7-40 minutes but it depends on the video (if it’s a series etc.) Because my channels subscribers are mainly all Halo fans, I make a LOT more Halo videos than anything else – but if you want me to play a game that a lot of others would also like to see on my channel, be sure to comment it in the comments section of my latest video(s) and I’ll try to play it if I can and if it’s popular.
HOW FREQUENTLY DO YOU UPLOAD?
I try to upload every day, and i will always at least upload one video every week, but usually i upload 2-5 videos on a school week (as I am still at school), and on a holiday week i often upload between 5-12 videos. This is just estimation, but these estimates are not always the case. If i have exams i will upload 1 video a week/month, or perhaps none at all, but i normally put up a video on my channel explaining why i will not be uploading to let you guys know.
WHY 'JIM BOB CHIEF'?
My nickname when I was young was Jim Bob, hence the first two words for my channel. I was also a huge Halo fan and still am so as the main character in the game is of course Master Chief, that’s why im called 'JIM BOB CHIEF.' It’s a strange name but no-one on YouTube has the name but me so it’s um… certainly unique.
WHAT DID YOU USE TO MAKE INTROS/OUTROS?
When i upload a video from IOS (IPhone), i will add intros and outros using my two favourite apps: 'INTRO DESIGNER FOR IMOVIE', and 'INTROMATE'. They both cost money to purchase, but for Intro Designer there is a lite version if you don’t have money on your balance!
WHAT MUSIC DO YOU USE ON YOUR VIDEOS?
I mainly use Music from soundtracks, but because of copyright I cannot use them as I won’t get paid, now that I have 1000+ subscribers. So I alter the pitch of the soundtracks so they sound different, use my very own music, or i just use royalty free music (copyright free.) I love composing music and Garage band and Logic Pro are two of my favourite software’s to do so!
WHAT DO YOU USE TO RECORD YOUR VIDEOS?
I have so many ways of recording videos for YouTube. I use my phone to record Stopmotion videos/animations, and I have an Elgato HD60, however because I encounter SO many problems with it, and the upload speed is HORRENDOUS – I tend to use Twitch on my Xbox One which is a streaming application/software, but you can export the stream/video to YouTube once you have finished recording! It is HD however depending on your internet; the video may have several parts of lag or glitches! I then use my DSLR Canon 750D for outdoor videos such as this one!
WHAT DO YOU USE TO EDIT YOUR VIDEOS
I normally don’t edit apart from trimming the video at the start and end in gaming videos, however I am starting to now because of my phone having much bigger storage! For trimming and adding suggestions etc I just use the YouTube creator section of my channel (you can do this too on yours!) However if I am creating cuts/adding intro’s/making a Stopmotion video – I resort to my iPhone where I use ‘Perfect Video Pro’ which is a very cheap yet amazing video editing app! There is a free version too so try it out!
I also use Adobe Premiere Pro from time to time.
