'VANQUISH' - AS LEVEL MOVING IMAGE ARTS ORIGINAL FILM [Post Apocalyptic]
14SYNOPSIS: Set in a post apocalyptic world in the year 2059, this is the story of how protagonist 'Orion Miles' is coping with the murder of his wife by a hostile force called 'Marauders', from two years ago. The film delves into the quietude and loneliness Orion endures, as well as depression, hostile encounters he has barely escaped from like the beginning of the film, survival in finding supplies, shelter, and more. It is a story of revenge and survival. Orion finds a venerable target who can tell him the location of the Marauders leader 'Hawk' so that Orion can hunt him down...
This is my Moving Image Arts A Level Film! Please note on some devices it can be quite blurry, dark, or grainy towards the end. It is best watched on mobile devices in particular. The film is actually supposed to be grainy to symbolise the overgrown+decaying world. It was not actually as long as this. All text at the beginning was not submitted as my final film but I thought I would include it to give you all a better understanding of my vision, and the story. I hope you all enjoy and take some inspiration if you are also studying Moving Image Arts! It was great fun to create the story, shoot, and edit - I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it!
BACKSTORY: The year was 2037. Nuclear weapons have been banned. War broke out between major countries after disagreements about lack of food etc, resulting in threats and demonstrations. Countries planned new tactics - the most common being to target chemical facilities and Nuclear power plants to spread radiation throughout major populated cities. Billions died. Those who survived took shelter in government made bunkers scattered throughout. Now, the year is 2059. Humanity has since recovered but is still in ruin and on the verge of extinction. Groups called Marauders scavenge the wasteland for supplies to survive, killing anyone that refuse to give them up - innocent or aggressive. Those who have survived have made or found local authorities gas masks and suits to protect themselves from areas of radiation to prevent radiation sickness from occurring. Clean water is hard to find and it is also scarce. Food is another big problem as many animals that are still alive have been infected. Humanity is still recovering from the war. It may never return to how things were. The only goal now is to survive.

This is a low-budget film coming in at around £200 for props and the equipment that I needed. We already had most and the guns were borrowed so in a way it would have been much more expensive but I got lucky!
The film is not supposed to be movie quality so I understand if you think it's not the best or that it is not Hollywood style! There were a lot of things I would have changed if I had a larger time limit and amount of resources!
