Hello everyone and welcome to another new Let's Play here on the channel! We will be playing through The Golden Compass, the movie tie-in game for the 2007 film of the same name. This secondary Let's Play for the channel will give us a chance to have a more focused/topic specific conversation, and the topic for this play through will be adaptation and games. The Golden Compass is a perfect subject for this conversation because it is simultaneously an adaptation of the film and an adaptation of Philip Pullman's book: The Golden Compass or The Northern Lights (US vs. UK/Canada/etc. titles). It also makes the developers' gameplay choices meaningful despite being an overall poorly made game.

In this opening episode we work our way through the tutorial section of the game, learning how to play as both Iorek Byrnison and Lyra Balacqua.
