9Gorea was a starfaring demon that was essentially responsible for the demise of the Alimbic race, serving as the main antagonist of Metroid Prime Hunters. It possessed a variety of powers at its disposal, namely shapeshifting, telepathy, teleportation, and the power to absorb the energy and abilities of its prey. Gorea was also unusually resilient and virtually immortal: for one, it survived what is believed to have been centuries–perhaps even millennia–of imprisonment by the last of the Alimbic; for another, no weapon forged by the Alimbic could destroy it–save the Omega Cannon, which the Alimbic had previously banned due to its risk of self-harm: it is this same weapon that Samus Aran used to defeat the beast once and for all. That is basically all that is known about Gorea. Otherwise, where Gorea even came from, for instance, is an utter mystery, leaving players to speculate on its origin...
