Two experts were dispatched from Kerbin to investigate the alien artifact, discovered by the previous crew.
The Rover crew were never prepared for this, so they only observed it from the distance.

The Kerbin greatest scientists have put together a set of instruments that when aimed at the monolith - will send various signals or different frequencies and patterns, and record any response.

This mission was top secret, therefore the space plane had to splash in the ocean far away from public eyes. This science conducted today will greatly improve the technological advance of all Kerbinkind in the future !

So, if you want to find the same artefact. You have to do those steps, as its randomly spawned:

1- have polar orbit probe or science module above surface of minmus,
2- click on the kerbin net access - select the view and click update while speeding up the time dilation
3- when you notice ? mark on the map , that it! click on the ?
mark and click on create waypoint, then send a lander to the location. For me it worked the first time.
But I also saw other ? marks after discovering first monolight. Those are fake. And there won't be anything there. Once the monolith is spawned and observed. That is it.

I made the story up of course, as this is a sandbox game, and there is no story at all. Or any goals really. I hope KSP2 one day will be as great and KSP from 2011 :)
