genuinely the hardest level i have beaten in a long time, Yatagarasu and Erebus are easier than this. the remake does not do the original difficulty of this level justice and quite frankly, that is for the better. there are endless choke-points scattered across the entire level. much like original The Hell World i will go in-depth with most of them
first we have 16-19%. if its the first time you see this section, this is probably very confusing as to how you do this properly. in the remake this was nerfed by replacing the spikes with half-spikes giving you more wiggle room as well as the method i found for doing this section was automated so the first jump was consistent. in the original, you have to find the first jump and set the yellow orb timings up yourself which with time is genuinely really straight forward. in the beginning this seems like a really hard part but it gets better after a while. my method might not be the best one either, that part can be approached differently
every ship in this level sucks ass but there are a few particular ones that are dreadful. the one at 28% is horrible because of the mirror portals that obscures your vision of where you are and you can very easily mess up aiming for the tight space at 32%. the ship at 60% is one of the worst ship parts i have ever played. genuinely, there are 4 different methods that i know can be used on this part and i wouldnt know which one to recommend to you. i just used the one i felt the most comfortable with
once youre past here, youre faced with probably the most awful parts in the entire level left, beginning with the "spike diamonds" at 69-70%. deceptively simple but brutally difficult to get the muscle memory for. i had a ton of runs die to this section. another timing i lost a lot of runs to was the gap at 75%. you cant hug the spike too close without dying to the spike mid-air so its an awkward af timing and it sucks. coming up is the one timing at 82% which you can notice just by looking at it how horrible it is. well over 15 deaths on this timing
as if the level already wasnt horrible enough to beat, now comes even worser parts. the straight fly at 86% is absolute garbage because of how close the ball portal is to the spikes. there is a small chance that you end up dying to the transition by being too close to the spikes. problem is if you try to account for that, there is a chance you die to the first spike in the ball instead. you really just gotta hope it works in your favor. the yellow orb at 90% is so damn easy to choke and the timing itself is really horrible. there is around 2 frames on 240hz where you can actually hit this timing properly and i hate it. even after all of this, only now we reach the actually hardest part in the entire level; the final ball section at 94-96%
just from looking at it, it may not appear too intimidating at first glance. if you look closely however, you will notice that all the spikes in the ball are not alligned with the grid. all 5 ball timings are near frame-perfects on 240hz with only 2 frames of leeway for each at the end of an already difficult level. this part is the main reason i was worried about ever attempting this level. with me starting to do streams again on Twitch i finally decided to give it a go after doing The Hell Dignity. somehow, all i ended up with was a 94 and 95 death and thats it. that is an insane fluke, this ball part is incredibly hard to do alone and i managed to do it from 0. easily one of my most proud achievements in a long time
