The Horror From Beyond -- A Tribute to John Carpenter's The Thing [Halloween Horror Contest]
This short video is a tribute to one of my all-time favorite horror films: John Carpenter's undying 1982 sci-fi masterpiece "The Thing."
One of the many facets of this movie which has facinated me for years is the undisclosed origin and past of the frightening creature. As Blair theorizes in the film it could easily have consumed countless worlds throughout the distant galaxies as it travelled lightyears across space, destroying all life in its wake... before arriving on our lonesome planet. The first half of this video is a fan's attempt to chronicle that dark odyssey.
This tribute marks my submission to SirNewerbeg's 2010 Halloween contest in which the winner will recieve a Thing-related prize. I hope this little vid will satisfy YouTube's Favorite Horror Host, as well as all fans of Carpenter's howlingly awesome horror classic. =)
Music is "Season of Wonder" by Nox Arcana.
