1The House of the Dead: Overkill is a first-person rail shooter video game developed by Headstrong Games and published by Sega. It is the fifth game developed in the The House of the Dead series, a prequel to the original House of the Dead chronologically and the first in the series to be released exclusively on a home console. It was released on February 10, 2009 in North America and February 13, 2009 in Europe. The game was released in Japan on September 17, 2009 bundled with the Wii Zapper accessory. The Japanese release, however, had to be drastically censored in order to still get the CERO-D rating.
A PlayStation 3 port is in development and is scheduled for release on October 25, 2011 in North America and October 28, 2011 in Europe. It will add PlayStation Move support, two exclusive levels, high definition graphics and 3D gameplay.
