In part 2 of my trip, I visit the stunning Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site, and explore the island of Ugljan near Zadar, Croatia. At Plitvice Lakes Croatia has protected the delicate ecosystem of 16 interconnected lakes and countless waterfalls, preserving the beautiful blue and teal hues (yes, the water really IS that blue!). Ugljan offered a welcome change of pace from Zadar and a unique opportunity to trek to a Byzantine fort 265m above sea level.
