VERSE OF THE DAY:
That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life--whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn't life more than food, and your body more than clothing?
(Matthew 6:25 NLT)
GAME SYNOPSIS:
This is Metroid, released in 1986, for NES (Nintendo Entertainment System). Metroid is 2D non-linear action-adventure platformer. Unlike other Nintendo games like Donkey Kong, or Super Mario Bros., where you have starting and then an ending point in a level, the entire game is a one level. You are given an emergency order to go to Planet Zebes (misspelled as "Zebeth" in the game's title screen), a cavern planet, to destroy the Metroid and destroy Mother Brain; but the game doesn't exactly tell you how to do that, because the game is not at all straightforward. Metroid is centered around collecting items in order to make progress in your adventure. The player takes control as the main character, Samus Aran, an intergalactic bounty hunter. The game gives you barely anything to start with, but it's up to you to find where those items are.
