The Invincibility of Milan
Milan’s next move was absolutely key.
Arrigo Sacchi had taken on the Italian national team role after his Milan side was disqualified from the European Cup and his continental dream was over for the time being. Berlusconi didn’t hire a similar coach to Sacchi, like many would, but he went down the wildcard route once again.
He got somebody who knew Milan inside out, who had worked for them before: he chose Fabio Capello, and he just about made them Invincible.
