The Invisible Hours - Chapter 1
So uh… I wouldn’t technically call this a “let’s play” since this isn’t really a game. It’s immersive theater. The Invisible Hours is a murder mystery story set in the late 19th century where you are essentially just a floating camera watching the story play out in real time.
The thing about real-time storytelling is that throughout this house multiple different scenes are happening simultaneously. So the “gameplay” is watching a scene from one character's perspective, pausing, rewinding, and looking for the other characters in the house to watch their scenes. Because this is a closed environment, most scenes overlap or are happening within close proximity of each other. Also because this game was originally a VR title, my camera is locked at character height and cannot freely move around the environment. The camera can only be where someone can physically stand.
I love how this game tells its story. This is one of the most fascinating “game” experiences I’ve ever had. The only other game I know that’s similar to this is Eleven Eleven. If that wasn’t exclusively a VR title I would make a series on that.
Anyway sorry for the long description. I feel like I have to explain what went into this because without context, it just looks like a series of cutscenes... Well it is, but since I’m playing as a camera, I had to frame each shot, gather all the scenes and put them together in a linear story. Enjoy!
