8The King is Watching, the upcoming roguelite kingdom builder by developer Hypnohead, and publisher tinyBuild, establishes lordly dominance over castle inhabitants in an updated demo during February Steam Next Fest (Feb. 24 - Mar. 3), ahead of its launch on PC in 2025.
WHAT IS THE KING IS WATCHING?
The King is Watching is a roguelite kingdom builder with a twist —
your lazy peasants only work when you're watching.
Keep a watchful eye on them, or everything stops. Strategically place
buildings and your gaze to balance resource gathering, production, and
army training. Save your kingdom: overcome a series of ever-challenging
invasion armies over a grand journey to your people's prosperity. Infinite
replayability is granted by a great amount of approaches you can take
to succeed.
FEATURES
Unique controls — Your gaze determines
which buildings produce resources. Glance at
the wheat fields, and your peasants will start
harvesting. Avert your attention to other royal
matters, and production will stop.
Production chains — Build production
chains and acquire the rarest materials to build
the strongest buildings and warriors. Trade
resources and gather ancient magical knowledge
for better protection!
A vast array of magic and defences — Build
a mage guild and start producing spells to help
you defend the castle walls. Train knights and
archers and improve your defences. Did we
mention that you can produce flour dragons?!
Multiple castle layouts and biomes — Your
castles' fortifications range from palisades to
huge stone walls. Invest in your soldiers and
outside watchtowers to stop the invasion!
