The ships were set up for long range plinking to wear down the enemy without excessive risk to self. Adding a reaper is dangerous for Falcons since they have to get close to launch one, but the Eagle has enough flux to handle the danger. I did accidentally disable autopilot for about a second, but nothing happened there, I swear!
