The Last of Us Part 2 takes place five years after the events of The Last of Us, and follows Ellie as unknown events pull her and those around her onto a dangerous path in a post-apocalyptic world. The Last of Us Part 2 is an interactive survival horror game that allows players the ability to craft weapons and gear and move through the environment in a multitude of ways. Naughty Dog has expanded not only the environment, but also the way Ellie interacts with it, be it crawling in a prone position, or climbing to high areas to better survey the area and survive it.
The Last of Us Part 2 has a very straight-forward story line with the option to explore larger areas more freely.
