You can start this quest in the Pub in Royotia, where an old man asks you to get back an important item he traded, and starts out by sending you to Balterossa, from there, the people you need to talk to are rather easy to find, but there are a few tricks in this quest. First off, when you talk to Beauson, refuse to trade the Ancient Scabbard for his information, this'll let you keep it and get a weapon much later in the game. When he asks you for the Royotian Wine, you can give it to him if you don't mind parting with a unique item, if you're a collector, refuse to trade it and he'll ask for Royotian Steel instead, you can buy 10 units of it in Royotia for 30 000G or just go mine it in a few places, like the Phoenix Section of Mojcado Castle.
Lastly, once you get the map back, return to Beauson for him to give you an Irised Stone and then to Alyssa to get the Ring of Morning Calm as an accessory, after that you can conclude the quest.
