The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Playthrough (Direct 3DS Capture) - Part 1
This is part 1 of my capture of me playing through The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds for the 3DS. This is not an emulator. This footage was captured directly from my New 3DS XL using the aftermarket capture kit manufactured by Katsukity and installed/sold by Merki.
I decided to record a new playthrough of this game to get rid of the annoying stuttering issue from before. This footage should be sharper as well.
When Nintendo announced a direct sequel to A Link to the Past, I was quite excited since that was one of the best Zelda games in existence. Also, I was never very happy with the DS Zelda games, so a more traditional Zelda game was a welcomed improvement.
I purchased A Link Between Worlds on its release date in November of 2013 and played through the game within a month or so. It was definitely an improvement over most of the prior handheld Zelda titles, but I'm not sure if I should rate it higher than Link's Awakening.
Even though A Link Between Worlds is plotwise a sequel to A Link to the Past, it basically recycles the content from the SNES title, so it's almost a remake in a sense. For a sequel, it should have featured more of an original overworld and theme, like the difference between Zelda I and Zelda II on the NES.
A Link Between Worlds gets a little heavy on puzzles at times, but overall, it has some pretty good dungeons, and the recycled overworld is not too bad. It's also interesting how you can complete dungeons in whatever order you like.
However, some of the characters are quite lame. I'm not sure why Nintendo decided to again push these weird ass androgynous characters after Skyward Sword (and that's without even getting into Tingle...), but Yuga just plain sucks. Ravio was also stupid and ridiculous.
Notwithstanding these minor complaints, I do like this game quite a bit. For this playthrough I'll just be completing the game on normal difficulty. As usual, I'll be collecting all of the Heart Pieces in this game and keeping track of them in each video. I'll also be collecting all 100 Lost Maiamai, but since the game already keeps track of those, I won't bother listing them in the description.
In this first part I started a new save file, encountered Yuga and met with Zelda.
Recorded with OBS Studio at 60 frames per second. I'm using a New 3DS XL.
