The Locust are creatures who exploded from underneath the Seran surface, many humans were dropped within the first few hours of the invasion. Roughly 25% of the human population would be annihilated during this initial outbreak. Eventually as humans got a foothold, they were able to fight back, but these physical prowess of these monsters, made them difficult to go toe to toe with and as a result, not many soldiers would be left.
